This rum is the closest thing I’ve found to the real deal. It smells so close to actual gold rum you’d swear it had alcohol in it. Tastes great mixed with coke and a bit of lime!
As an avid non alcoholic spirits fan, I was super delighted when I found Tanqueray and Gordons 00 gins to be very much on a par taste-wise with their alcoholic equivalents, sadly I cannot say the same for Captain Morgans Spiced Gold - I had really hoped that - with the advent of the big names finally getting properly in to the non-alc market - that they would find ways (as per the gins above) of making the products as similar as possible to their originals - and I do hate to say this, as I really like Captain Morgan rums - but this falls short of the mark for me, sorry. I’ll drink it, but unlikely to order more….
I love the Captain Morgan 0.0, it tastes just like the real thing to me. I have it in the evening with my caffeine-free, zero calorie Soda Stream cola and lime for a guilt-free Cuba Libre.
